I believe incorporating faith and Biblical principles into the counseling relationship is what brings true and complete healing. When things seem hopeless, God is the one who can restore hope. Though people can be helpful in times of need, only God can be there all the time…every time.  He can bring healing in our lives by helping us break free from our struggles so we can enjoy the life He has planned for us. We will look to those Biblical principles and promises for comfort, motivation, forgiveness, healing and restoration.

I believe in the Triune God- Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  I believe the Father created this world and each of us in His image according to His design and plan. Satan brought sin into the world when he tempted Adam and Eve.  Sin is at the root of our own brokenness and the brokenness we see in the world.  I believe Jesus Christ came to live a life free from sin and then die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins.  It is only through His grace we are saved and can live in eternity with Him.  There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation.  Rather, it is only through His grace that we receive forgiveness and the promise of heaven.  No matter what we do in this life, God cannot love us any more or any less than He already does.  He is constantly pursuing a relationship with us.  I believe the Holy Spirit works in our lives today by gently guiding us in our choices.  However, God gave us the gift of free will and we can ultimately choose to ignore His guidance.  I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is without error.  It is more than just a book of stories from a long time ago.  It is filled with truth and holds the power to transform lives, which is why I incorporate these principles into my counseling.

I realize not everyone has the same foundation of faith and therefore may not be comfortable discussing or including religious beliefs and principles. I will respect the decision to include or not include this in our work together.
