BINGE EATING DISORDER (BED) is characterized by:

  • Frequent episodes of eating large amounts of food but there isn’t purging after
  • Feelings of being out of control during episodes
  • Extreme shame about eating patterns and after episodes

Common warning signs: 

Chronic dieting history, evidence of binge eating- (food disappearing), depression and/or anxiety, withdrawal from others, always searching for next weight loss plan but not acting on it, preoccupation with food and eating, extreme mood variations, poor body image and low self-esteem, etc.
